Crafting Disorder and Chaos into Meaning: The Scrabble of Life

Scrabble pieces fall with a clatter on the table

between us.

I make my choices,

analyze,

decide what I can make of them.

So many options.

And some will require effort and others -

at the level of a toddler.

Who do I model my words after?

What determines my interest, my motivation, my creativity?

Will I look at the pieces with curiosity and

a desire to put them together into

something I am proud of;

that reflects my attitude?

Or do I choose easy and simple

to just get my turn over with?

And, if that is the case,

do I really understand the game?
