Redefining Heroism: The Silent Strength of Everyday Integrity

What is a hero?

Must they save someone else

in order to be bestowed with

this title?

Is there always danger and peril

involved?

Is the other person

too full of fear to act on their own?

Are they outnumbered, outsmarted, outmuscled?

Why is a hero's identity secret?

Why do we not consider

the person of integrity and character

who has made purposeful decisions

in their life

that lead to financial, emotional, relational and bodily strength

as someone that...

could swoop in with their

habits and ideas and perseverance and wisdom

to save us?

Why do we need drama?

Fanfare?

Why not the consistent choices in daily living that creates

lives and a world worth living in...

and one worth saving.

Thank you for reading and considering these musings...

To consider: who do you consider to be a hero in your own life and how have they "saved" you?
