Embracing Stillness: A Poetic Journey to Recognize Our Needs and Celebrate Possibilities

My sister sits in a position

known as Lotus.

Her legs are relaxed and eyes are closed,

hands resting in patience on her knees,

her palms face upward, ready to receive.

With each breath, a letting go but also

a taking in

of thoughts of peace, space, time

and a releasing of what does not serve today.

A blooming of the heart and mind,

like that Lotus flower, face lifted to the sun;

a turning in and turning out,

open to possibility.

  To consider: What possibilities can you remain open to?
