The Illumination of Fear - Flip the Switch
I flip the switch
and squint as the flood of light
washes away the darkness of shadows.
I see the sharp clear lines of
appliances and furniture exposed now,
not hidden in the disguise of
imaginary monsters.
So, what clarity does this illumination
actually bring?
By exposing myself and my fears to the light,
I have denied myself the discomfort of contemplation
of all that is hiding
and hidden...
gracing myself with the opportunity to
overcome my irrational thoughts and to then
become enlightened in the darkness.
