The Wisdom of the Willow - Designed to Withstand

Resilience.

The willow.....

bent but not broken,

regal yet branches humbled to the sky above.

How much strength do I have God?

How much force will be exerted before I break?

Please don't ever let me find out!

My roots absorb the nourishment.

Let it travel to the tiniest tip,

let it engulf each vein, bough and leaf.

And, let me stand tall,

yet humbled to you,

welcoming to those creatures needing shelter,

always aware of my dependence on you,

confident that I will bend and move with the storm,

awed with the knowledge

that you designed me

to withstand.

Thank you for reading and considering these musings...

To consider: Think back to a time when you needed inner strength and fortitude. Did you find it?
