The Distance Between She and I - Why is "She" Never "Me"?

A Goddess.

Who is she? What is she?

And why is it that this question is immediately

about someone else?

Why do "I" not come to mind to myself.

I picture someone else,

ethereal, with a fluidity of motion to her body

and a softness to her features;

an inquisitive glint in her eyes

and eyebrows announcing her curiosity.

I see a hand open

to receive

to beckon

to grasp

to lead.

I see a patient bearing;

a commitment to wait

until noticed and appreciated.

But there is also a confidence in her abilities

to comfort, teach, love and heal

but a lack of consideration for those who

will not make the effort to engage in

their own life's story.

Solid yet yielding - not soft enough to push over,

strong enough to bear the wait of being.
